While the majority of the drugs available for mood and psych disorders are effective, no one can argue that many of these pharmaceuticals come with a slew of nasty side effects. No longer willing to “donate their body to science,” increasing numbers of people are looking at more natural, holistic ways to tend to their mental health in the same way they’re managing their physical symptoms, namely, through managing their diet.
The good news is, by eating better and being proactive, people are seeing positive results. This article from Psychology Today was surprisingly supportive of the connection between low carbs and better mood (you know there’s a sea change when mainstream media outlets begin to acknowledge the efficacy of formerly “fringe” treatments, like low-card eating).
