Charity Bake: Baking for Ukraine
It’s time to put this cake making to work for good and who doesn’t love a good old fashioned bake sale?
This week I’m going to be raffling off cakes to benefit chef José Andrés World Central Kitchen that has been on the ground working with local chefs and restaurants to help feed refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine and at the Poland border.
"People of the world … Like you, I am distraught watching Ukraine under attack. We must come together as a force for good! @WCKitchen is on [the] Poland border delivering meals tonight—Romania soon”
What’s up for grabs? One 6” three layer Chocolate Notella Cake (chocolate cake with homemade “notella” and chocolate ganache buttercream) plus two two layer 4” London Fog Mini Cakes (earl grey cake with vanilla bean buttercream).
These cakes are organic, gluten, dairy and artificial coloring free.
To enter the raffle simply head to the WCK site (link below) and donate $5 or more this week. Send your dated donation receipt to hi@cleanmade.com, leave a comment here, and you’ll be entered to win. That simple.
I’ll select three (3) winners at random this Friday 3/4 and cakes will be ready for pickup in Altadena on Saturday 3/5.
If you’d like to special order a cake to benefit WCK, drop me a note and if I can swing it, I will! If you know someone gluten free who'd love a cake, spread the word!
